Disarming America

The second amendment wasn't just for the right to keep arms for home security or hunting, it was also for the people to be armed enough to fight against a tyrannical government, kind of like the one we have now. They know this. "Gun Control" is not about "safety" or "crime levels", it's about scaring people into giving up their weapons; its about corrupt leaders disarming their biggest threat, US the people, the well organized militia. Hitler himself was very successful at creating a nationwide gun registry:

"This year will go down in history. For the first time, a civilized nation has full gun registration. Our streets will be safer, our police more efficient, and the world will follow our lead into the future!"
Adolph Hitler
Chancellor, Germany, 1933

I don't know about you, but I'm not about to follow Hitler's (or Obama's) "lead into the future."

The Founding Fathers of the Right to Bear Arms

In a time of such tragedy the "Gun Control Debate" has been ripped wide open once again. There has been yet another flood of statistical data for and against. As a proud, God fearing, gun toting, American patriot I find it difficult to remain silent on such matters.  However, I do not wish to rattle off some biased opinion or stats, but in times such as these I wish to turn to some of the greatest men who ever lived; the men who wrote the God inspired documents this country was and still is (for the time being) founded upon even after more than 200 years of change.

"Firearms stand next in importance to the constitution itself. They are the American people's liberty teeth and keystone under independence … from the hour the Pilgrims landed to the present day, events, occurrences and tendencies prove that to ensure peace security and happiness, the rifle and pistol are equally indispensable … the very atmosphere of firearms anywhere restrains evil interference — they deserve a place of honor with all that's good."
George Washington
First President of the United States

"To preserve liberty, it is essential that the whole body of the people always possess arms and be taught alike, especially when young, how to use them."
Richard Henry Lee
American Statesman, 1788

"Those who hammer their guns into plowshares will plow for those who do not."
Thomas Jefferson
Third President of the United States

"The constitutions of most of our States assert that all power is inherent in the people; that … it is their right and duty to be at all times armed; … "
Thomas Jefferson
letter to Justice John Cartwright, June 5, 1824.

"And that the said Constitution be never construed to authorize Congress to infringe the just liberty of the Press, or the rights of Conscience; or to prevent the people of the United States, who are peaceable citizens, from keeping their own arms; …"
Samuel Adams
quoted in the Philadelphia Independent Gazetteer, August 20, 1789, "Propositions submitted to the Convention of this State"

"The supposed quietude of a good man allures the ruffian; while on the other hand arms, like laws, discourage and keep the invader and plunderer in awe, and preserve order in the world as property. The same balance would be preserved were all the world destitute of arms, for all would be alike; but since some will not, others dare not lay them aside … Horrid mischief would ensue were the law-abiding deprived of the use of them."
Thomas Paine

Amen. And amen.
on the other hand:

"If you wish the sympathy of the broad masses, you must tell them the crudest and most stupid things."
"This year will go down in history. For the first time, a civilized nation has full gun registration. Our streets will be safer, our police more efficient, and the world will follow our lead into the future!"
Adolph Hitler
Chancellor, Germany, 1933

"Our main agenda is to have all guns banned. We must use whatever means possible. It doesn't matter if you have to distort the facts or even lie. Our task of creating a socialist America can only succeed when those who would resist us have been totally disarmed."
Sara Brady
Chairman, Handgun Control Inc, to Senator Howard Metzenbaum
The National Educator, January 1994, Page 3.

I need not say more. May we all give our support to those victims of senseless crime and violence, but may we also not fall into the trap of surrendering our unalienable rights for the sake of fear; and may God continue to bless America as He has in times past.

In Retrospect......

so ive been here at UVU for about 5 months, finshed one semester and started the second. looking back at the last 8 months (since i moved out in April) its just crazy how much stuff ive done! i went back and read all my blogs from over the summer and thinking bout the whole sales experience.. i thought that summer would never end! and here i am almost a year later filling out my mission papers! that whole thing over the summer was one of the more difficult things ive done, and its kinda surreal, im just so glad to be done with it. its just funny to me how this time last year i wasnt in school, i had no job and was still living at home. basically all i did was hangout around the house and play Nazi Zombies with sam! all i really looked forward to was hangingout with taylor. now, i leave my appartment in the morning and dont come home till 9 o clock when i get off work. im just constantly going and have so much to do and will continue for at least two more years! i wont even have the summer to relax until im back from the mish.. i kind of cant wait for that... just do nothing for once. anyway, in retrospect, the last little while has been a very eventful and influential time and im glad i did it all.

some rather exciting news

so yesterday i went to austin and shanna's place for her b-day. on the way over austin tells me that he talked to pam and that theres a guy leaving and they're short handed at gunnies, so she's gonna call me on monday and have me come in to start training and get some hours!!! and its about time cause i have $8.08 in my account. so if i work 20 hours a week i'll have enough for rent and some extra for food! although i discovered that potatoes are the most amazing thing! $1.77 for ten pounds of tatoes! and yo can mash em, fry em, bake em and lots of other stuff so i never get tired of em! and a single potatoe is more than enough to fill me up. so ive been living off of those for some time now. oh! and i took a couple midterms this week and pretty good on both the math and history!anyway, so things are looking up as of now.

college life.. and various other news...

so its been about 2 weeks since i started taking classes at uvu, and thus far everything is goin well. ive still got near 100% A's in all my classes, (even math! ive managed to keep up thus far) sign language is almost a joke, we spend most the class playing games, they're semi-benificial, but i'd rather just learn vocab and practice that. but i assume we'll learn more as the semester goes on. beyond that life isn't too exciting, i spent saturday night home alone, ate ice cream and watched TV. im sure you all heard the news already so i aint gonna spend too much time dwelling on that. of course it seemed like everybody knew before i did! haha with in a few hours i got a call from austin "checkin up" on me. do you have like an email list, mom? or a phone tree? maybe a news letter bout seth's personal life? haha just thought that was funny. in the last 3 years ive only been single 6 days, most people say "oh, i dont know if i'll know how to date again.." heck, i dont know how to be single! its for the best at the time being.

i aint nevir bin wun fur no book lurnin'

(for now some of these posts will be sorta random)
so for the last 4 or 5 months ive been.. not in school. its pretty much awesome. after moving partway through my junior year (and california's system sucking.)i got stuck in an "alternitive" highschool.. AKA: the kids-who-are-too-baked-to-function-in-normal-school highschool. i decided to just take the exit exam and stop going. i think sleeping in and painting was far more useful than hearing conversations about how cigarettes and weed are too expensive to smoke both. so ive been painting the entire interior of the house. making muchos mulah, way better than the "education" id be getting in Monticeto. i dont think ive ever heard so many drug references combined with various swears strung together into something that resembles a sentence. (i gotta give em props though on making one word into a noun, a verb and an adjuctive.) so now i prepare to go out into the real world with a job making more money than all the monticeto kids will outta highschool combined. i dont nead no edumacation.
